Tickets are officially on sale for our first annual Bloom event for new and expecting moms!
Who: All Gainesville area moms (you do not have to be expecting to attend). This event is geared toward moms who are currently expecting a baby, had a baby within the last year, is a foster parent to an infant, or are planning on growing their family soon through birth or adoption.
What: Bloom is a City Moms Blog Network national event initiative with the goal of connecting moms to local resources, services, and businesses that matter to them as new moms. Over 50 sister sites within our network will be hosting Bloom events in their cities throughout April and May.
Why: Whether you’re expecting for the first or third time, have a newborn at home or are working your way through the toddler years and thinking of expanding your family in the future, this event is for you. Come enjoy a morning of delicious food, educational resources, giveaways and swag, and connecting moms and families with relevant local resources!
When: Saturday April 28th, 2018 from 10am-12pm

Q + A Panel Featured Speakers:
Alexandra Stern, MD, is a Gator at heart. She was raised in Gainesville, FL and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. She then earned her medical degree from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency training at the UF Pediatric Residency Program at Orlando Health. Dr. Stern began her career as a general pediatrician at UF Health Pediatrics - Tower Square. She enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.Dr. Howell was born and raised just south of Gainesville in Ocala, FL. She then made the short move to Gainesville to attend both college and medical school at the University of Florida. She then moved to North Carolina with her husband to complete her residency and chief resident year at UNC Chapel Hill. After living in North Carolina for a few more years, they have made our way back home along with their 2 children. She enjoys watching Gator Football, serving in her church and spending time with her family.Sara received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Florida. Sara worked as a nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, taught prenatal Newborn Care Classes, and worked as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) while earning her doctoral degree. Sara has a passion for helping mothers and infants learn about breastfeeding and work through breastfeeding challenges. Sara enjoys guiding patients in healthy living practices and has a particular interest in late preterm infants and NICU graduates. Sara is also very passionate about patient-centered care and patient advocacy. Outside of work, Sara enjoys spending time with her family, being outside, running, and experimenting with allergy-friendly plant-based recipes.
